About
What Escape Channel is for, who writes it, how claims are checked, and where to write when we get something wrong.
Escape Channel publishes when there is something to publish. There is no schedule and no filler, and every piece stays in the archive even after we have changed our minds about it.
Escape Channel exists for one reason. Most pages about Down-to-earth help for planning getaways and travelling well are written to sell something, and very few are written by people who will still be here to answer for what they published.
Each piece sits under exactly one heading. Readers arriving from search mostly land in destinations, weekend getaways and trip planning, so those sections get looked after first.
The site pays for itself through a small number of outbound links. It has never been enough to change what gets written, and the day it is, we will say so here.
We would rather publish six pages we can defend than sixty that read well. That is why the archive grows slowly.
We keep the commercial side visible. Some outbound links earn us money, and that never buys a change to the text around them.
How claims get checked and how money is disclosed is written down separately, on the editorial policy page.
There is no house byline here. Each piece is signed, and each signature leads to everything else that person has put their name to.
Corinne Vale, Destinations and planning writer. Corinne writes about choosing where to go and planning trips that run smoothly, for travellers who want less stress and more enjoyment.
Mateo Rivas, Getaways and outdoors writer. Mateo covers weekend escapes and outdoor travel, focused on making the most of limited time and getting outside.
Priit Lemsalu, Budget travel and tips writer. Priit writes about travelling well on a budget and the practical tips that make trips easier, drawn from plenty of real travel.
We are not the right place for advice tailored to your exact situation. Escape Channel publishes general guidance, and the difference matters more than it sounds.
Point at the sentence. Write to info@escapechan.xyz or use the contact page. Factual errors are fixed quickly, and when a correction changes the conclusion of a piece we say so at the foot of the page rather than editing quietly.
